NYSE: Magyar Telekom celebration on the 10th anniversary
Budapest, November 20, 2007
The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), the world’s leading capital market celebrated Magyar Telekom on 19th November on the 10th anniversary of introduction there of the first Central European – and to date the only Hungarian – company stock. On this occasion our company had the honor of ceremonially ringing the closing bell announcing the end of the stock exchange trading day which is a unique occasion in the history of the Hungarian economy.
At 4 o’clock in the afternoon (New York time) Thilo Kusch Chief Financial Officer of Magyar Telekom rang the famous bell. This is how Wall Street remembered the 14th of November ten years ago when the opening bell was rung by the CEO of Magyar Telekom (at that time Matáv). Before the closing bell of the trading day, in a short celebration the executives of NYSE greeted the delegation of Magyar Telekom led by Thilo Kusch and including Krisztina Förhécz, head of the Group Investor Relations Department. The local correspondents of the leading Hungarian media also participated in the event.
