Matáv wins EFFIE competition with XL supplementary tariff package campaign

Matáv finished first in the telecommunication category of the Hungarian EFFIE competition with its XL supplementary tariff package campaign.
The competition was open to campaigns presented in the
Hungarian media between January 1, 2003 and May 1, 2004. EFFIE's goal is to
recognize effective advertising campaigns which have lived up to the
expectations pinned on them in the given market environment. The most important
element of the competition is the effectiveness case study in which the entire
market environment, the goals of the campaign and the evidence of success have
to be presented. This study constitutes the basis of the evaluation. The jury of
prominent Hungarian advertising and marketing professionals in leading
positions, researchers and lecturers evaluated the applications presenting the
effectiveness of the given advertising campaign, in two rounds. The Awards Gala
was held in the Thalia Theater on October 15.
Since its first appearance
(in 1968) EFFIE has become a synonym for effective advertising. This year the
prestigious competition is held in 25 countries.
Matáv launched the XL
supplementary tariff package on December 3, 2003. With the XL supplementary
tariff package, which is available with the Bázis, Csevegő and Sokatmondó
packages, local and long-distance zone I calls are exempt from call set-up and
minute charges from 6.00 p.m. on weekdays and all day in the weekends, up to the
60th minute of the call.
With the XXL supplementary tariff package, which is
also available with the Bázis, Csevegő and Sokatmondó packages, local,
long-distance I and II and domestic long-distance calls are exempt from minute
and call set-up charges from 6.00 p.m. on weekdays and all day at the weekends.
The XL and XXL supplementary tariff packages are extremely popular; in ten
months over 120 000 customers have chosen them.
