Matáv Group won second place in "Green Frog Award"

The Matáv Group submitted its Sustainability Report 2003 to the "Central European Environmental Reporting Award" (CEERA) competition invited by Deloitte for the third time for the annual environmental or sustainability reports of Central European companies. Matáv won the second place in the "Green Frog Award".
The winner of the "Green Frog Award" was Dreher Breweries,
Matáv and the Budapest Electricity Company finished second in the competition,
and the third place went to the Hungarian Electricity Company. The prize was
presented at the joint event of the Hungarian Business Leaders Forum and
Deloitte in the Budapest Hilton Hotel on November 16, 2004 by Minister of
Environment and Water Management Dr. Miklós Persányi.
The international
jury included the EBRD, the Central European University, the Business Council
for Sustainable Development, the Central and East European Regional
Environmental Center and HVG. When judging the applications, the jury examined
the environmental impacts presented in the environmental report published by the
given company, the depth of the data series, the outer appearance of the report,
the standard of environmental management, the company's customer relations and
the share of environmental spending in the company's overall expenditures.
Applications were also submitted by Audi Hungaria Motor Kft., BorsodChem
Rt., British American Tobacco Hungary, Csepeli Erőmű Rt., Opel Magyarország
Autóipari Kft., Tetra Pak Rt. and Tiszai Vegyi Kombinát Rt.
