DT Institute at Technische Universität Berlin
Budapest, February 2, 2004
By 2007, Deutsche Telekom expects to increase its ADSL customers to ten million. In an effort to achieve that goal, the company is concluding a research and development cooperation agreement with the Technische Universität Berlin.
In addition to the cooperation, Deutsche Telekom will also set up its own institute at the university, where information technology and telecommunication research and development will be conducted by German researchers and scientists from prominent European universities. DT is studying the possibilities of having closer cooperation with France Telecom in the R&D area, said Kai-Uwe Ricke, CEO of DT, in Berlin. In the Matáv Group, Westel has a long-term R&D agreement with the Budapest Technical University.
