The newspaper "Figyelõ" has issued its "Top 200" publication ranking Hungarian companies on the basis of their results achieved in the previous year. Matáv has retained its pole position among Hungarian companies in all categories where it has traditionally been ranked first over the past years. In 2002, Matáv won first position in 5 categories.

Matáv was the domestic company with the highest pre-tax profit, highest net profit, highest equity and highest trading profit, and the domestic telecommunications company having the highest revenues. This year, two new awards were presented at the ceremony organized on the occasion of the publication of Figyelõ's "Top 200". Westel took the award for the "Best Top 200 company of the year".
