Westel users can send MMSs from mobile phones to postal addresses
Budapest, November 21, 2003
As from December 6th, Westel enables their customers to send photos in MMSs, to be delivered as picture postcards to any postal address. In effect, Westel MMSs can get through to all 10 million inhabitants of Hungary.
Westel's customers using telephone sets suitable for sending images and photos can send such messages in the form of a traditional picture postcard to any domestic postal address; so from December 6th, Christmas greetings, together with a photo of the family, can be sent from mobile phones. Using the new service, an MMS can be sent to anybody anywhere in the country, simply by addressing the message including the image/text, in the way determined in the text window and sending it to the central service number 06 30 80 00 667. The incoming message is printed out by FOTEX in the form of a picture postcard and delivered to the address specified by the sender, using FOTEXnet's own logistics system. One addressee can be specified at a time for an MMS picture postcard. The service fee of HUF 400 gross/message applies to all tariff packages. The MMS picture postcard service does not have to be ordered separately; to use it, you simply set the relevant function of your telephone set and activate the MMS service.
