Axelero grants monthly scholarship of HUF 80 thousand and on-the-job practice to best two IT students

This year, too, Axelero grants scholarships to two outstanding students doing research in the area of "Internet technologies and solutions" at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. This time the scholarship has been awarded to András Balogh and Péter Sinóros Szabó - fourth grade students of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics who were selected in an open competition by the board of trustees of the Farkas Heller Foundation of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. During the research period the students will work regularly with Axelero's [origo] maintenance staff and will draw a monthly grant of HUF 80 thousand.

Axelero Internet has been subsidizing the Farkas Heller Foundation of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics with 2 million forints annually since 2002, which money the institution uses to finance two scholarships of ten months each. The awardees are selected from among the best students of informatics doing development work and submitting papers in open competition on the theme of "Internet technologies and solutions". The winners of the open competition have been selected on the recommendation of the Department of Sociology and Communications of the University's Faculty of Economic an Social Sciences, by the trustees of the Foundation whose work was also aided by the advice of Axelero staff.

This year's two winners András Balogh and Péter Sinóros Szabó submitted their papers on the themes of "Automatic generation of business solutions", and "Deployment of web content to semantic web". István Szakadát, senior researcher of Axelero Internet, said that the two scholarship holders will be working with the staff involved in the development of [origo] and in applications development. The two winners of last year's scholarships worked in the operational line of Axelero, they were responsible for setting up and testing a monitoring system based on Windows 2000 platform, and for setting up a toolkit supporting the harmonization of the database.

In addition to the monthly allowance, the scholarship holders will also have the opportunity to acquire on-the-job experience with the market leader Internet service provider, which will eventually improves their chances in the labor market. The Internet company, too, has found experts who are experienced in the practical application of theoretical technology on the one hand, and who can contribute to the growth of Internet in Hungary with their innovative development, on the other hand.
