Easter through Catholic and Jewish eyes, at the University of All Knowledge
Budapest, April 14, 2003
On April 14, 2003 the University of All Knowledge will host an extraordinary event: on the occasion of Easter, József Schweitzer, retired national chief rabbi, and Péter Erdő, archbishop and primate, will deliver a joint lecture.
The Jewish people celebrate the flight from Egypt at Passover (the holiday of freedom). At Easter, Christian believers commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ in Jerusalem. Christian Easter is based on this belief. Retired national rabbi József Schweitzer and archbishop-primate Péter Erdő will discuss the significance of the two events and the ways people celebrate them.
