Budapest, April 8, 2003

In spite of the inclement weather, the 18th Matáv-Vivicittá drew record participation. More than 8,200 participants lined up for the start in three distances. The purpose of Matáv-Vivicittá city protection run is to make the inhabitants of historical cities aware of the real values of their environment. The next venues will be Veszprém (on 12th April), Pécs (on 27th April) and finally Szeged (on 4th May).

As the first major mass sport program of the year, the 18th Matáv-Vivicittá and Minicittá City Protection Run were held in Budapest on 6th April. Both the start and finish of Vivicittá and Minicittá were on Margaret Island. All participants in the run received a customized T-shirt as a gift.

Vivicittá will also be held in Szeged, Veszprém and Pécs.
On 4th May, the event will be organized in Szeged for the third time. In Veszprém on 12th April, this will be the second time after last year’s success. And this year’s new venue will be Pécs where the starter’s pistol will be fired on 27th April.
