Azure Infrastructure Assesment
The Magyar Telekom Azure Infrastructure Assessment service helps you accurately assess your company's infrastructure and related needs. We will select which applications should be moved to the cloud to ensure that the cloud migration process and costs are predictable.
Moving an enterprise infrastructure to the cloud provides the right modernisation, capacity expansion and security improvements, but to avoid surprises, it is worth to conduct a thorough assessment before making this dramatic change.
We help you to fully understand your existing on-premise infrastructure and application components, their business context and goals.
We answer the following questions:
- What does the particular system do?
- Who uses the system?
- What are the consequences of a particular system failure?
- How important is business continuity for a given system?
- Are there any known current problems (reliability, performance, functionality) with the system?
- Is the system currently properly scaled?
What are the dependencies of the system?
The Magyar Telekom Azure Infrastructure Assessment service accurately assesses your company's infrastructure. During the cloud consultation, we select which applications are worth moving to the cloud in order to plan the migration process and costs.
The main value of the Azure infrastructure survey service is that it helps you to clarify the most important questions:
- Do you know your systems and how they work?
- Do you know exactly what is worth migrating to the cloud and what is not?
- Are you aware of the risks and lead times of cloud migration?
- Are you aware of the exact performance and cost requirements?
- What are the benefits of a potential cloud migration for me?
The survey result provides the right input for the preparation of a potential cloud migration project, whether it is motivated by own business or innovation or by an external factor that indicates a concept change:
- Expiry of the data centre contract
- Fast post-acquisition integration
- Urgent capacity needs
- Software and/or hardware modernisation
- Security considerations
- Liability considerations
- Faster application development, innovation pressure
- Software end-of-life events

Moving an enterprise infrastructure to the cloud provides the right modernisation, capacity expansion and security improvements, but to avoid surprises, it is worth a thorough assessment before making this dramatic change.
The aim of the cloud consultation
To help our customers identify infrastructure opportunities to migrate applications to Azure. Prior to migration, it is important to understand exactly how the current on-premise infrastructure is structured and identify opportunities in order to plan the process and cost of cloud migration. As part of the service, we use native tools and conduct consultative interviews to facilitate an accurate understanding.
The steps of a cloud consultation
1. Exploration and survey
- review and document existing infrastructure and application inventory,
- assessing migration opportunities
2. Evaluation
- a summary of the survey results,
- clarify the necessary next steps
What is included in the service?
- Mapping of designated local infrastructure
- Analysis of available resources
- Identifying incompatible items
- Establishing cloud preparedness
- Estimate of expected monthly costs
- End-of-process reporting and reconciliation
Themain objective of a cloud infrastructure assessment is to fully understand the existing on-premise infrastructure and application components, their business context and goals.

The cloud infrastructure survey method:
- The survey used native tools (Azure Migrate and AzureTCO Calculator) and consultative interviews.
- As a result of the study, the existing systems dependenciesare indisclosed
- potential problems (reliability, performance functionality) are identified
- and we establish the cloud-readiness level of existing systemcomponents, identify the necessary or optionally proposed steps, before the start of the cloud migration project
Survey content:
- the on-premise infrastructure designated by the customer(physical and virtual servers),
- analysis of resourse utilisation derived from historical data
- identify any incompatible components
- determine the cloud-readiness level of the infrastructure
- estimate of expected monthly Azure costs after cloud migration
- Preparation of a Cloud Readiness report and customer coordinating.
The Service does not include the following:
The service includes a survey and therefore does not include a deep code-level survey, documentation, migration or planning of migration of identified resources.
