Magyar Telekom included in FTSE4Good Emerging Index

FTSE Russell, the global data and index provider, confirms that Magyar Telekom has been independently assessed according to the FTSE4Good criteria, and has satisfied the requirements to become a constituent of the FTSE4Good Emerging Index, as part of the FTSE4Good Index Series.
The FTSE4Good Index Series is designed to measure the performance of companies demonstrating strong Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices. The FTSE4Good indices are used by a wide variety of market participants to create and assess responsible investment funds and other products.
At present eight per cent of the investors of Magyar Telekom are considered responsible investors. “When they develop their portfolio, it is a primary consideration for them to invest in companies playing a leading role in sustainability” said Christopher Mattheisen, chief executive officer of the company. "This feedback also confirms for us that our strategy is appropriate, we are on the right path: the sustainability activity of the company represents value not only on the domestic, but also on the international level.”
Magyar Telekom was added to the FTSE4Good Emerging Index with the absolute score of 4.4 (out of 5) and with the relative SuperSector percentile of 93 (the maximum is 100). In addition to this Index, Magyar Telekom has been included in the CEERIUS (Central and Eastern European Responsible Investment Universe) Index since 2010, and Oekom Research responsible investor rating agency has also placed the company in the Prime category, recommended for investment.

The FTSE4Good Index Series identify companies that better manage ESG risks and are used as a basis for tracker funds, structured products and as a performance benchmark. The ESG Ratings are used by investors who wish to incorporate ESG factors into their investment decision making processes, or as a framework for corporate engagement and stewardship.
