New Magyar Telekom call center opens in Szeged
Budapest, April 2, 2008 11:30
On April 2, 2008 Magyar Telekom opened its new call center in Szeged. The former call center building in the county seat was replaced by a modern center with 270 operator positions that was inaugurated by Pál Szentgyörgyi, deputy mayor of Szeged and Magyar Telekom’s Director for Consumer Customer Care Ferenc Hantzmann.
Under the process of integration within the Magyar Telekom Group the
Company set the objective to operate integrated call centers – covering
the services of T-Com, T-Mobile and T-Online – to improve customer
satisfaction and ensure excellent service provision to customers. The
development carried out in Szeged was based on a two-year project with
the objective to integrate and unify Magyar Telekom’s call centers in
line with market requirements. As a result of these changes Magyar
Telekom’s call center staff will answer customers’ calls at fewer
sites: in Budapest, Sopron, Nyíregyháza and Szeged.
The Szeged
call center will reach full capacity by the end of next year, until
that time the staff headcount will be increased in several steps,
primarily through relocation from other call centers where positions
are released. The building – where the call center was the first unit
commissioned – was built in a project managed by Real Hungary Ltd. that
will also perform operation tasks in the future. Magyar Telekom leases
the 2,400 m2 area needed for the operation.
The Szeged project
was carried out with help from the municipality to create additional
jobs for people living in or near the city. Primarily operators having
sufficient knowledge about T-Mobile, T-Com and T-Online services will
be placed in the new call center. Additionally technical assistance,
operator assisted services and administrative support function will
also be included in the scope of the new call center’s functions. The
objective of the integration project is to create appropriate working
conditions and offer motivation for the customer care service staff
since employee satisfaction is a precondition to customer satisfaction.
The new site will ensure these conditions over the long term: the
building located beside the Tisza offers a bright and friendly working
environment with ample and well equipped social rooms.
