Magyar Telekom has the best advertisement of the decade
Budapest, June 18, 2008
Magyar Telekom received the “10 years’ best advertisement” award granted by a professional evaluation panel at the Metro Global Creative Awards 2008 competition in Hungary. The company’s award-winning advertisement for fixed-line telephone services was published in August 2001 in Metro daily.
Metro celebrates
its 10th anniversary in Hungary this year and to mark the anniversary
it presented an award in a special category. The best advertisements
published in the daily over this 10-year period entered the
competition. An evaluation panel of Hungarian professionals gave the
“10 years’ best advertisement” award to two advertisements promoted to
the final after a multi-round voting procedure, taking into
consideration also the votes of readers. One of the winners of the
award – that reflects recognition by the advertising sector – became
Magyar Telekom’s half-page advertisement for fixed-line telephone
service published in August 2001 with the slogan “You can forget about
everything while phoning!” and created by Lowe GGK agency. According to
the assessment of the professional evaluation panel the winning
advertisements had very creative ideas and were designed at high
standard.
The Metro Global Creative Awards (MGCA) competition
was created to recognize and award the most creative and innovative
ideas in the field of press advertisements. 2008 was already the fourth
time that Metro International invited a competition of creative
advertisements published in the daily. Metro is read each day by more
than 22 million people in more than 100 cities in 23 countries of the
world, so taking all editions together, this is the world’s largest
daily.
