Klári Katona, spokesperson of Matáv Donation Line awarded "Pro Caritate Prize"

On the occasion of March 15 Klári Katona spokesperson of Matáv Donation Line was awarded the "Pro Caritate Prize" for her outstanding charity activity. The prize was presented by Dr. Kinga Göncz minister of youth, family, social affairs and equal opportunities.
Dr. Kinga Göncz minister of youth, family, social affairs and equal
opportunities presented state awards and prizes to acknowledge
outstanding performance in the areas of social work and family welfare.
The minister awarded the "Pro Caritate Prize" among others to
performing artist Klári Katona, to acknowledge her outstanding charity
activity. Klári Katona has been supporting this unique activity since
the launch of the Matáv Donation Line, assisting and supporting the
foundations and the activities of the civil organizations. In the
course of her work she is always happy to report about handing over the
donations, about the success achieved jointly by civil organizations
and Matáv customers through the Matáv Donation Line. "I am proud that
the donation system of Matáv Donation Line is transparent and
controllable, each forint of the donations is spent on the particular
purpose for which it was intended by the donors," said Klári Katona.
In the three years of its existence the Matáv Donation Line has
channeled donations of over 120 million HUF to civil organizations
through the phone number 1788. The funds have been used to purchase an
ambulance for premature infants, mobile X-ray equipment, monitoring
equipment for cardiac patients, a therapy unit for children and crisis
vehicles for the homeless, to establish a maternity house for pregnant
women in crisis, to assist independent living for people born with
Down’s syndrome and contribute to the fight against infant mortality in
the developing countries by purchasing vaccines.
